SmokeStack Deloitte – 195 Joseph St., Kitchener, Ontario

Deloitte transformed the century-old smokestack at 195 Joseph Street into a vibrant way-finding monument for Kitchener’s Innovation District. To illuminate the smokestack, Lighting Designer, Mulvey & Banani, utilized GVA Lighting’s FL100 RGBW and STR9 colour changing lighting systems. The 55-metre (180 foot) brick smokestack can cast 10 different colour scenes, allowing for a customized, colour-chanigng display for any event. This project highlights the blend of heritage and modern technology, enhancing the district’s identity and aesthetic appeal.
